Glenn Clinton - Bermuda
Josh, Tex and Cari worked tirelessly to ensure our experience was perfect, whilst suffering through throat ailments in silence. They are a credit to your organization.
The entire trip was fabulous.
John Winters - Brodhead, WI
Absolutely excellent trip! Great guides, great food, lots of excitement when we hit the rapids. Most importantly, a great group of people traveled with us as we rode down the river and we made fast friends with people from all over the world!
Kelly and London Wilson - Little River-Academy, Texas
The trip was fantastic ...London and I had a wonderful experience...the guides (Tex, Scott, Kari, Shad, Josh, and Jacob) were outstanding and made the trip a huge success...as for the other people on the trip...each and everyone of them were so amazing that I will never forget them ...thank you all so much and if any of you make it to Texas.....look us up...we will show you what we have to offer in our state....
Cory Richter - Sebastian, Florida
This was a very enjoyable trip, the crew (Mark, Scott, John, James & Becky) where great, they entertained us and where very knowledgeable about the river and the surrounding area. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone and will be looking to do some of the other river trips you offer.
Karen Studebaker - West Alexandria Ohio 45381
This was absolutely a blast. Our guides were remarkable women who knew their stuff on the river. They kept us entertained (Gee Whiz. The meals were outstanding and not what you would expect camp food to be- 5 star dining to be sure. I met so many new friends and we shared so many laughs with each other. I already miss each and everyone of them.
Lois Wetzel - Houston, Texas
This was a magnificent six-day trip of a lifetime, and I highly recommend it. Our guides were amazing, the food was awesome and the care provided by them was over and above the expected.
If you are going to take a river trip, Western River is the group to hire.
David Wroe - UK, now living in Minnesota
Had an absolutely great time riding the front of Eric's raft on the Cataract Canyon Express. Eric ensured we got the maximum thrill out of every rapid without dumping a single sole overboard :) We came back tanned, well fed and making plans for our next rafting adventure.
Lila Schantz - Santa Cruz, CA
Hi Erik and Corey,
Reid and I want to thank you again for the wonderful time that we had on the river with you and the other guests. We are looking forward seeing you again in the near future. The next time we do the Colorado river with you, we would like to come in May like you suggested. We will never forget experience that we had. You guys took very good care of all of us and your such good cooks, but I have to say I'm back on my 21 day cleansing. Reid and I think that we had the best group of people with us, which six of them were boys, they were a lot of fun. So if anyone ever wants to go on the River I highly recommend Western River Expeditions, They are experience, they point out the great sights and tells the story be hide it, great cooks, nice people, fun, exciting and the canyon are so beautiful. The flight back was amazing, I got to sit next to motor bike guild (owner) and he pointed out all the sights on top of the canyon, which I was very lucky to have him on my flight. the next time we are in Moab we are going to do a motor bike tour with him, I think that he said he goes on a 200 mile ride, which I am looking forward to, I didn't get his name so if he is reading this Thank you ever much. The adventure was so much fun, I miss everyone already. Thank you Western River Expeditions
see you soon! Lots of hugs to you all,
Lila and Reid
Quinn Fradet - Bend, Oregon
In a word: AMAZING!!!!
The trip itself was awesome: beautiful scenery, exciting rapids, awesome night skies....but really, it was the people that made the trip what it was!
Fellow rafters: an extraordinary group of folks from all over the US, we really melded into a river "family"!
The crew: Josh, Mark, Shad and John took such great care of all of us, were knowledgeable about the river, and were entertaining, fun, and *funny*!!!
This was definitely a trip to remember: I'm feeling a bit of post-river withdrawals, but thinking back on the great times we all shared, makes me smile all over again!
If you're considering doing a raft trip w/Western, don't hesitate!!! You'll be so glad you did! :)
Sharon Craig - Sacramento,california
Loved the trip and our guides Lucky and company.
Verena Taylor - Brussels
This trip was definitely a highlight of our holiday! We met great people in our group and the guides were committed, enthusiastic and professional. The river was sometimes wild and sometimes gentle, sleeping under the stars a wonderful experience! Flying back to Moab with the small plane was the perfect end to a perfect rafting/camping experience!
Donna Cerutti - New York City
Our trip was amazing; I felt like a kid again. The guides were wonderful and really helped make the experience a great one. I would love to do this again!
Austin Allison - Weatherford,Texas
This trip was the best!
Beau Franklin - Memphis, TN
We had the most amazing River guides on our trip- The trip leader- Grace was wonderful and experienced in river navigation as well as the local lore. All of the guides, Molleee, Ashley, Annie, Joslyn, Jennifer, and Kenna did all that they could to make the trip enjoyable and safe. Hip Hip Hooray for our all women river guides!!!
Samantha Woodward - Salt Lake City, UT
(Women's Trip) What an awesome time. I loved every minute of it. The girls were great. Thanks again, SAM (one of the massage therapists).
Jennifer Smith - St. Louis
I just returned from the Women's 4 day trip through Cataract Canyon. It far exceeded my expectations. The guides, all amazing women, introduced us to a beautiful canyon, encouraged us to try new experiences, and took outstanding care of us. The yoga was a great way to start the mornings, and the massages in the evenings were outstanding. It was an experience I won't forget, and I'm already planning to take another trip with Western, with my husband.
Dan Craig - New Jersey; Trails End Camp
Our trip was awesome! Thank you so much!
Tara Moretti - Chicago
Hey guys, I just got back from a 2-day Cataract Canyon trip and had a riproaring good time. Shout out to Erik and Reece (for the love of God, would someone get the man a shirt with the correct spelling?) You guys were both extremely knowledgable and a pleasure to be around! Thanks for calming my sea snake/scorpion fears and for putting up with our ridiculous ham jokes. You guys made it a truly memorable trip. I'm recommending you to all my friends & family. Take care guys!
Janet Durbin - Phoenix AZ (now Seattle)
My fiance and I took four of our grown children on the four day trip. We had an exciting time on the rapids. My girls and one son were thrown out of their rafts on the class five rapids. My older son was recuperating on the "big boat" after getting dehydrated on the Dollhouse hike. I want to thank everyone for their assistance and comradery. Cari you are a very special person. Thank you for the hat and the support. The guides and food were great.
Tim Dial - El Dorado Kansas
I had a great time on this trip, I would recommend this trip to anyone. The guides were unbelivable, they made the trip even better. Their knowledge of the river and the canyons were second to none. Besides their knowledge, the guides were alot of fun to talk with and listen to their stories. I expected to have a good time on the trip, and my expectations were met tenfold. Oh yeah, Big Al was worth some laughs also.
Jane Gendelman - Carmel Valley, CA
Excellent trip all the way around. I have a nearly 16 year old daughter and twin 13 year old sons. Not an easy age for most but my children are tremendous and loved it too. We have been through some really difficult times the last several years in many areas. This was my opportunity to focus forward again with my kids, who are the greatest of human beings, do something really different and relax. The guide (Eric) and the other family we shared the boat with only added to the experience.
Kaweah Ferraro - California
To Eric our tour guide. "The hours we spend absorbing life's beauty...Are the hours we truly live".
Russell Eason - Haleyville, Alabama
Wonderful trip, with memories of rapids, mountains and great people!
David Phoenix - Los Angeles
Terrific, exhilarating, demanding, filled with camaraderie and subtle joy. Never seen so many stars! Our Cap'n Tony was a great leader(low-key, professional, witty), guide Jocelyn was a sweet-hearted Drill Instructor I'd follow anywhere, and the rest of the staff were charming, competent, helpful, always informative and a pleasure to camp with. I never questioned their judgment and when accidents did occur, they were on the spot and did what was necessary with minimal fuss and maximal professionalism. In essence, this trip was excellent because this particular team was superior. I'd go anywhere with them. I give 'em all an A.
Christine Garant - Fredericksburg, VA
Absolutely Awesome. Tour guides were Mike Estenson and Erik Thompson. Great adventure, water, food, history. Would and will do it again. Western River Expeditions is TOP NOTCH.
Cari (Caroline) Hertogs - Hastings, Minnesota
Hello fellow rafters! The four day trip was a memorable experience. I may have only had 4 days to get to know you, but each of you made a lasting impression on me. Thank you for the memories. Hopefully those who were injured on the rapids and left behind on the treacherous hike are all doing well. Please send a note through the website to let us know how you are doing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. As always...Cari
Kevin Minton - South Carolina
Great trip! Really nice service the whole trip. Very accommodating. Appreciated the naration by the guides of interesting points along the way. Food was really good, well prepared! We enjoyed it. Did the last part of the Grand Canyon trip 2 years ago. Overall a first class operation. Thanks!
Lee Goetz - SLC, Utah
Erik, Anthony, and Reese were awesome guides. This was such an adventure! The scenery and the rapids were amazing. My family will never forget it. Especially 13-yr old Krystal! (P.S. - my middle finger was broken, but that was a small price to pay for so much FUN!). We can't wait to see some photos. And we'll surely be back again.
Jessica Peters - New Hampshire
Oh, what can I say? The trip was a BLAST! Thanks to our amazing guides- Tyse, Ryan, Shad [K-Shad/Just Shad ;)] Tom, Grace, and Ashley accompanied by Tara and Grace's lil bro Phane. You all did a great job! Thanks for keepin us smiling even in the high wind storms and hail! (D-I-S-C-O...) I'll miss you guys so much but I'll see you again I'm sure =D Ryan, thanks for takin me down the rapids, you did a great job at rowin (and and even greater job at getting me soaked ;]) And Tyse, I'm suffering from those river withdrawals but the sand helps like you said =D To my river mates, you guys were so much fun to be around, you made my trip the most memorable. I'll never forget it, and I definitely can't wait to go again! I'll miss you all.

Stephanie (& Wade) Johnston - Peachtree City, GA
Our "Family Float 2006" included three generations of the Kwech clan which consisted of14 members. It was almost minus one when we lost our #13. Thankfully, with the help of some wonderful staff at the Western River office, we were reunited with our #13 (thank you...I never got your name!) and began our awesome journey through the Cataract Canyon. It is a trip that will forever be remembered. Our two sons, ages 11 & 13, continue to talk like "pirates"! It is difficult to describe the spectacular scenery, delicious food, wild rapids, and wonderful pampering that we experienced during this trip. I can only suggest to try it and you won't regret it. Lastly, a big THANK YOU to our personal "pirates" (guides), Jordan and Matson, for: the cheese whiz moments, putting up with 2 silly sisters, answering sooooo many questions, the campfire entertainment and for giving this family a trip to talk about for years to come. Remember, our clan grew to 16 by the end of the trip....we'll see you at the cabin in Wisconsin! firstname.lastname@example.org
Barbara Mendelson - Scottsdale, Arizona

Our trip was fantastic!! The whole family thought it was the best vacation ever! Our guides were the greatest. They were friendly, great cooks and were always keeping us entertained. There was never a dull moment. We hated to leave all our new friends behind at the end of the trip. Can't wait to raft the Grand Canyon!!
Kathryn Gibson -
Sarah and Grace you guys kicked butt. Thanks for letting me have a little extra fun. You girls are awesome. Chris thanks for navigating us down the river without a hitch. Brad and Tyson great fun with you all. I did not know you could put 4 life jackets on one person. Keep smiling.

Lauren Mihlethaler - Missouri
Wow. I can honestly say that this was the best vacation I have ever been on. I had way too much fun! From going down the rapids to sleeping under the stars, everything was perfect. I never thought I would make it that long on the river...let alone fall in love with it like I did! Everything was so beautiful.
And it definitely wouldn't have been as great if it weren't for the people on the trip or our guides: Matt, Anthony, Nick, Tyson and Kelly. Kudos to all of you! It was amazing.
Allie G. - California
I had the time of my life. It was by far the greatest vacation ever!!! Words cant even explain how much fun it was.... From the food to the view everything was just amazing.... thanks to the wonderful guides: Anthony.Matt.Nick.Tyson.& Kelly.... ur the best ever!!!!
Dave Halterman - Draper Utah
This trip was a blast. It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever done. The guides were so cool. They really knew a lot about the river, you could ask them anything and they knew the answer. The guides also were amazing cooks, you could not go hungry the food was delicious, they were also lots of fun. They knew so many facts about the river. Casey is a stud he had a bean dip challenge and I finished it so I got to drive the big S-Rig. Sara was a lot of fun and very funny (when you could hear her because her voice was so pretty and soft). The guides cooked up some great grub. Please keep in touch with me at Dave at ehalterman.com.
Dinah Polzin - Brookfield, Wisconsin
Justin,Jordan, Sarah, Casey and Stephanie. What can I say. THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME! I believe the Guides, and Group of People make it all come together. Through in the the sites from the perspective of rafting is simply undescribable...actually leaves me speechless, and that takes a lot. Glen and I plan to do this again. Hopefully we get the same crew.
The views, hiking, camping, stars at nite, food, smiling, rapids, lunching and so much more. The Creator certainly provided the scenery, and took me to places I have never seen before.
Thank you all from the River Guides to the Company for being there to share the beauty, laughter and awe of such a trip!
Heidi Kimball - Phoenix
Absolutely fabulous trip with an awesome guide (Mike). My teenage sons loved it, wished we could have taken a longer trip! This is a great opportunity to bond as a family and enjoy the wonder of nature - away from the distractions of the electronic age! We'll be back for the Grand Canyon!
Kathi (Grandma) Kwech - Celina, Texas
The guides were the best!!!! The food was scrumptious. I still am amazed at having popsicles in 103 degrees on the river. The scenery is spectacular and so interesting with the tidbits added by the guides. Stomp, Stomp!!!! I only wish there was a ladder to get back into the raft from the water so I could have looked like a mermaid instead of a beached whale.
Ginny Kwech - Milwaukee, WI
What a trip!! Jordan and Mattson did an incredible job guiding us on our adventure. Their professionalism and humor made it a trip to remember. Our 2 teenage sons can't stop talking about it and have repeated the jokes and stories the guides told over and over (Thanks guys!!). The wonderful food and beautiful scenery made roughing-it fun for this city girl. It was a trip none of us will ever forget!! Thanks so much Jordan and Mattson! Keep in touch with us older folks! We'd love to hear from you! email@example.com
R.William Kwech - Dallas,TX
Our guides were Jordan and Matson. We were on a family vacation. A group of fouteen, which included children from ages seventeen to ten. Our guides were wonderful they catered to all of us on a very prfessional and friendly manner. Our food was wondeful and served very professionally.
We never seem to be bored with the time spent on the river. The evenings were spent enjoying one another's stories and playing new games suggested by our guides. In short the wish of having a family vacation of peace, quiet and bonding with one another was fullfilled by the wonders of the Canyon and river along with the help of a very professional outfitter known as Wester River Expedition.. THANk YOU!
Allen Stoffel - Columbus, OH
The Cataract Express was pretty good. The water was higher than I'd experienced before and the type of boats made the rapids experience quite unique. I miss doing the hikes and other stops for scenery that you get on the four day trip, and there were no bell jokes told. The smaller group is good, but there is a lot to be said for the larger group on the four day trip. All in all, it was a great experience, up to Western standards for everything.
Mike &scott Koponen - Bellmore, New York
WOW!!! Took our first trip to Cataract in 2000. Best trip we've ever been on, until we took our 2nd. May 2006. Spectacular!! Thanks Justin, Sara, Jordan, Casey and Steph. Can't wait to do it a 3rd time. Western is the Best!
Jessica Bomm - New Jersey
Cataract Canyon June 6-9, 2006 - Howdy ya'll! Damian and I had a blast on our trip through Cataract Canyon... even though we never did see any waterfalls! I posted some pictures under our trip number at www.westernriver.com/mywestern - email me if you don't have the trip number (it was on the confirmation we received in the mail when we first booked the trip) - firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our guides, Kelly and Casey, were very knowledgeable and always kept up a positive attitude - even in the burning midday sun with a bunch of cranky campers who wanted to see a waterfall! The Dollhouse hike was definitely a highlight - thanks for taking us, Casey (Sorry Damian! And sorry to everyone on the beach who got stuck in the sandstorm!). Even though we only had rapids one day of the four we were out there, they were really fun - ESPECIALLY if you were able to get a seat up front (sometimes not easy to do - ha ha). Anyway, most of all we want to say thank you to (sorry in advance if I spell your name wrong) Edie & Edie, Sandy, Caleb, Kevin, Dan, Megan, Roger, Bonnie, Debbie, Dick and Mike for being the best camp-and- raft mates anyone could ask for! It's because of you guys that this trip turned out to be as memorable as it was. We know we were very lucky to have such a fun bunch of people out there with us. Stay in touch everyone!
Jess (& Damian)
Michael Sacchetti - Phila.

This was the vacation of a lifetime! No kidding! Everything from the stars at night, the meals, the rapids, the fun-loving people, the hiking, .... the memories are incredible and we just can't quit talking about it! Oh, and THE GUIDES! Justin, Casey, Sara, Jordan and Steph, too! What an AWESOME group of people they are. They MADE the trip. I'll do this again...and can't imagine doing it any other way but the Western River Way!

At the end of the trip, I was thankful that the guides took good (let me change that) great care of us and made it fun for all. For us, Jesse, Troy, Nick, Jason, and Sara were outstanding.
My two sons (10 and 13) thought it would be boring. Boy, they were surprised and now insist that we do it again next year with their friends. I am still amazed at the food, which was truely outstanding.
But perhaps most important of all is the life changing beauty that we saw and the friends that we made. For a family vacation, I cannot imagine a better four days than this river journey.
Carol Birdyshaw - Florida
Hats off to our wonderful guides: Casey, Matson, Sara, Nick and Chris. They are the best. The entire trip was wonderful from the stories, music, food, entertainment and of course the river. Met some amazing people. And the sights were absolutely breathtaking. A trip for all who enjoy the great outdoors.
Charles McTargett - Indianapolis, Indiana
We've traveled a lot and this was the BEST family vacation. The guides (Deeters, Anthony, Jeffery, Grace and Chris) were excellent hosts and made the trip (and they were awesome cooks as well!). The Sorrell River Ranch is amazing, first class and very relaxing...don't miss it and the drive out to it along the Colorado River is beautiful. Take the flight back too. If you are considering this vacation you will not be disappointed. E-mail me for more rave reviews (email@example.com). I've traveled to 35 countries and this ranks as one of the best vacations in my book!

Sorrel River Ranch and Cataract Canyon 6 day trip, July 31, 2005
Doug Bell - Chino Hills, California
First off, Casey, Sara, Tyson and our own personal guide, Matson, were all super people and guides. They kept us on our toes and shared everything they could. We had a great trip, enjoyed the scenery, made new friends and ate too much! We had some confusion at the end about contacting some new friends and sharing pictures. If I missed anyone with picture sharing, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org I'll send a note to you to share, what I hope, were some great pictures.
Kim Hebert - Stormville, New York
What a Ride! 7/12-7/15 We wish to extend a huge THANKS to the guides and our fellow rafters for an amazing time. Two years in the planning and it exceeded our expectations. Tyce, Jordan, Justin, and Grace- You guys were great and made this a vacation our girls will talk about for years to come.
P.S. A special thanks to Tyce for getting Steph through the "Big Drops". email@example.com
Becky Phillips - Provo, Utah
Thank you for an unforgettable experience. It was an adventure from the start. The scenery was breathtaking, the rapids awesome, and the guides were incredible. We appreciated Mike and Jordan and all they did to make our trip a wonderful celebration of life and nature!
Howie Kurtzberg - Merrick, NY
6/28 - 7/1/05
It's all about the guides: Justin, Adam, Chris and Tyce provided a wonderful trip. This was my second time on Cataract (Memorial Day weekend '99 was the first). This time was even better than the first. From the hikes, the rapids, the food, the campfires, the company of wonderful people...it's all great.
Take the journey...it's fantastic.
Regards to our new friends from Minnesota, Washington, Utah, California and all the others. Thanks for good times and we'll always have the Stanley Koob.

Rick with a big "R"
Michelle Gorel - Tempe, Arizona
What a great trip, the scenery superb, the rafting was great -- and even though out of my comfort zone (thanks) it was a thrill. the food was terrific, the stars awesome.
Our river guides -- Casey, Adam, Anthony and Riser were the absolute best -- professional, friendly, knowledgable -- they made the trip. They really went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and ensure they were having a good time.
Thanks for the memories!
Robert Michael - Fort Collins, Colo.
An off-the-edge experience. INCREDIBLE food, great companions, FANTASTIC geology, (I'm a geologist); just enough terror in the rapids to spice everything up.
Rick Carter - Indianola, Iowa
The trip was a blast. A great group of people. Enough can not be said about our guides. Justin, Jordan, R.D. and Matson. You guys are the best. After four days it was like leaving a group of old friends. Looking forward to another trip next year. Thanks WRE.
Lil Conley - Wilmington, N.C.
We had THE BEST guides ever!! Very professional, extremely competent, great personalities, team workers, fabulous cooks, self-sacrificing, great story tellers with a wonderful sense of humor and most accomodating to everyone in the group. Our hats are off to Andy, Adam, Jeff and Becky for giving us a trip of a life time. Andy showed exceptional leadership as we were a very large group of 38 inexperienced rafters and campers. All the guides worked tirelessly to make everything perfect for the group. We did not have a check with us at time of departure and would like to know how we can forward a tip to these outstanding guides. Also, how do we contact other members on our trip?
Michael Solovay - Miami Beach, FL
My friends and I had a fantastic time. Our guides, Justin, Casey, Jordan and Jeremy really made our trip fun and memorable for years to come. We plan to tell all our friends that couldn't make it that they better sign up for next year. This was my second time down the Cataract Canyon and it's better every time I go. Also, it was great to make some new friends along the way.
Steve & Saundra Linn - McKinney, Tx
Thanks to Casey, Justin, Jordan and Jeremy for a terrific week on the Colorado. You impressed our entire family with your commitment to both safety and making sure everyone had a great time. This is a vacation/expedition that we'll remember for the rest of our lives.
Shawn Ellis - Moab
Absolutely stellar!! Justin, Casey, Jeremy and Jordan were unbelievably competent, talented and friendly. The service was incredible and the attention to small details mind boggling! We will be back!
Patty Kickham - Guelph, Ontario, Canada
It was 5 years ago that my four sisters and I took this fantastic trip. I just recommended Western River to a friend who wants to go whitewater rafting. I still have many fond memories of the breathtaking scenery, the GREAT food, the companionship and the excitement! I'd go again at the drop of a hat given the opportunity again.
Steve Arthur - Virginia
I was trip leader on a private Cataract trip launching July 8 and taking out on July 13. One of your trips caught up with us at the camp site registration box below the confluence. I've been a private boater for years and have met many commercial guides, but your guides, especially Chad were the most friendly and helpful of any I've encountered. Over the next few day we crossed paths with them and every time they surpased their previous generosity.
Mike Goddard - Vernal, Utah
I was on the July 6th, 2004 trip, the trip was fantastic, your guides, Justin, Matt (Fashion), Stacey, Cam, and Grace were very qualified and made everyone comfortable. My compliments to you and your staff, I will plan a future trip with Western.
Joy McKenna - San Antonio, New Mexico
Just can't say enough good things about the Western River Crew!!! I went down the Grand Canyon with another Western Crew a few years ago and had the same wonderful experience. Beautiful landscapes, great hikes, good food, entertainment, and FUN!!! Both old timers (like myself) or young'ins would enjoy the ride.....highly recommended.
Bruce and Jackie Wuollet - Minnesota
To Adam, John, Chris, Cameron, Audrey & Lindsey
Bruce and I want you all to know how much fun we had on the river with you as our guides. We met so many great people. The entire trip was a wonderful learning experience for this "city girl". A major team building experience. From the awesome hikes and tasty rides on the river,to the delicious meals,we thank you. Bruce throughly enjoyed sharing some of his talent with you all. It was a different experience for him to play in a non-smoke filled arena. He played his newest song, "Cataract Canyon", for the fans at his latest gig. It was a hit! Thanks again. We hope our paths cross again one day.
Joan Kilgallon - Ocala, Florida
My daughter and I spent two days at the Sorrel River Ranch and the scenery and horseback riding was wonderful! Then on to the rafting! Our guides were just awesome. They were the most pleasant and entertaining people and boy could they cook!!! The food was fantastic. We had a really great group also. It was just a fantastic trip and one I would love to repeat. I can't say enough about the experience, background and friendliness of our guides. Thank you for a truly memorable experience!
Elling Lyslo - Brooten, Minnesota
Fantastic trip, Great Guides, and a wonderful bunch of people. A once in a lifetime trip. It was everything I had hoped it would be. The Hummer trip that I took after this one was Icing on the cake.
Jean Cortes - Connecticut
This was an incredible trip for our family. We have not stopped talking about how much fun we had and how great the people were that we met. As great as everything was, truly the guides were the key to making this trip so fantastic. They were all absolutely amazing; they were not only expert rafters, but great cooks, funny, outgoing, kind, etc., etc. We all miss them.
We have so many wonderful memories. This trip was a true gift. We will treasure it for the rest of our lives.
Thank you for a family vacation of a lifetime.
Vicki Nelson - Blackfoot, IDaho
Brodie, Shawn, Justin, and Sarah----you guys were incredible! Thanks so much for all the fun and laughs. I was really impressed with your knowledge, skills, and professionalism. You guys rock! Thanks for your smiles! Love ya all!
Norm Collins - San Antonio
This is the site seeing trip of a life time. The rapids on the third day are a tremendous bonus. I must admit, though, that this was the only adventure trip that I have ever taken that I gained weight. The food and service was so good. Hard to imagine a 5 star restaurant in the middle of no where. Bird, Cam, Drew and Tea were the greatest/funniest guides. Ask for them!
Jack White - Woodland Hills, CA
I recently returned from a trip down Cataract Canyon. It was a great trip. I did a trip last year with another company and only wish I could have found Western a year ago. You are truly a class act. The equipment was fantastic (cots, folding chairs and new clip tents), food was great, and the guides for sure made the trip. I would not hesitate to recommend Western to anyone and everyone.
Michelle Kain - Hollywood, FL
My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time on your trip in late June. We can't say enough wonderful things about the river guides who were friendly, professional and fun! From the breathtaking scenery and exhilarating whitewater to the quality of the supplies and substanial menu with excellent food, the trip was an adventure of a lifetime. Nothing was overlooked. We were particuarly impressed with the care taken for the environment. We literally left only footprints behind.
We hope to return in the not to distant future for another incredible experience.

As a local I am often asked why I dont go on Vacation in California or Nevada. One look at some of pictures from some of our river trips ( this is my third trip with Western Rivers ) and what does Disenyland or Las Vegas have to compare. Disneyland has no ride to match thrills you get when you hit white water. As for the gilter of Las Vegas, the Milky Way far out shines anything Las Vegas has to offer. The food is great and you just can beat the ambiance, Dinner served at sunset with the red rock in the back ground is quite breath taking. Will I do another river trip? The answer is yes I will.

COLORADO RIVER COUNTRY
Red canyons lay on a smiling moon
Zuni and Pueblo in a desert tune
Gray clouds are high above the river
Sand and stars run along forever
Sun unfolds in a warming kiss
Rapids are fierce a spiraling twist
Wind goes smooth rock is sharp
Night moves a string in a lonely heart.

This was the greatest trip that I have ever been on and the most enjoyable. Everything was so well planned and executed, we didnt need or want for anything, it was all there!
Terri Sacharoff - Florida
Loved the trip...loved the crew!
We had a great time.
Matt Gardner - New Orleans, LA
This trip was a graduation present given to me by my dad and it turned out to be the best gift I was ever given. The guides were awsome and I met a lot of really great people who were along for the ride as well. Thank you all for everything
Brian Lucas - Salt Lake City, Utah
This was a great trip and Vanessa and I had a blast. The rapids were incredible! The food was great. The group we went with were awesome and we all became good friends. The weather was beautiful the entire trip and Id recommend this trip to anyone. It was truly spectacular and I already miss it.
Roberta Phillips - Utah
You guys are the best!! Thats why my family and I are going again this year! And I cant wait!
Marissa Winsser - Massachusetts
The trip was amazing! I am 11 years old and from my point of view it was very fun - there were other kids to for me to play with. The scenery was beautiful. I would go on this trip again anytime! And the tour guides were the best ever! I recommend everyone of all ages to go on this trip!! ~*~marissa~*~

Awesome trip with great guides and beautiful scenery. The food was very good. I will be taking the 6 day Grand Canyon trip in April of 2003. I look forward to exploring the canyon and running the rapids.
Steve and Karen Jankowski - Long Beach, CA
Outstanding experience!! Guides were great, very knowledgeable and entertaining. The food and activities exceeded our expectations. Several of our friends have heard our stories and seen our pictures and now they too want to experience a rafting trip. Thanks for everything. Well remember this trip for a long time.
Debi Swift - Martinez, GA

There was a very personal feel to the whole trip, the river guides did everthing the could to make the whole trip an expierence of a lifetime. The fun didnt stop when the rafting finished for the day, many an hour was spent singing as the sun set down below the canyon walls - Cant wait to go back!
Klint Hutton - Litchfield Park Az.(Moab)
What can you say other than "It was a Grand Trip." It was the best. My son and I went, and I for one have priceless memories. Our guides, Justin & Ashley, Roo, Cam, and Russ made the trip a blast. With their "Life Changing" stories, jokes, histoy and geology, they made the trip a great time. And the food, fantastic. But being from Moab, the best part was being back on the river and in the canyons with my son where I truly love and consider home. Sleeping out under the stars where God did some of his finest work is something that is hard to put in words. It does really put things in the right perspective. It lets you know that everything is going to be all right, don't worry about everything so much. As long as there are places like this where you can go and enjoy, take in the beauty, have fun, and be with new friends and family, life is great.
Thanks for everything and hopefully see you next summer.
Brookings, South Dakota
The scenery was breathtaking, the food was simply delicious, the hikes were unbelievable, the rapids were incredible, and the camps were pitched in postcard-perfect settings.

While cleaning out things in storage, I came across the receipt for our family trip in July 1973. We took the 3 day Dinosaur Expedition trip. The party included my mother, myself, and my three children ages 8/9/11. The cost of our entire "Expedition" for 2 adults & 3 children was $402.50! Amazing!
Even though we all traveled together extensively until the last 15 years, adding spouses and grandkids, this trip was one of the highlights of 35 years. Everyone can still recount tales of this adventure.
So if you are interested in something that will be remembered for a lifetime, take one of these trips!
Thomas Mitchell - St. Louis, MO
Thank you for a wonderful look at nature's grandeur and power in Desolation Canyon, and for your personable and very well organized guides and support systems. This was a great trip for families, and the whole group now feels like cousins to me.
Jan Alber - Sacramento, CA
I had a great time. All our guides were fantastic. Brian, Daniel, Carly, Desire and our lead guide,(Tannera?). We couldn't have asked for a better group of people. It was a great experience. I plan on doing the Grand Canyon trip. Thank you.
Dave And Sue Barrett - Ri
This trip was an incredible adventure! Western puts together a great trip in every aspect - the whitewater, the food, the views, the hikes...it was all terrific... but the absolute best aspect of the trip were our Guides. Carrie, Scott and Kristina are amazing! We feel very fortunate to have experienced this adventure with them and the rest of our group (which we now consider new friends!). This trip will be a life long memory for ourselves and our boys. Cheers! Dave, Sue, Connor (13), Jake (11) & Riley (8)
Dimitri Stetsenko - San Francisco
Camping on river banks, hikes to abandoned ranches, Wild Horses, Black Bear and her cub, Big Horn Sheep and lots and lots more! We've experienced all this in just 4 days, all while sunbathing and floating down the river surrounded by some of the most majestic views in the world! Our guides - Haley, James and Jess - were phenomenal and treated everyone like royalty. In short, do it NOW!
Larry Cohen - Bay City, Michigan
The adventure was a deeply spiritual journey. Words are not enough to describe the wonder. The guides were wonderful and certainly add to the value of the trip.
Sonia Rodriguez - Chicago
So peaceful, being close to nature - there is nothing like it. This trip was tranquil yet exciting. I did this trip when I was 20. I am now 49 and I recommend it to everyone. They treated us like royalty and the food was great the stars at night, wow!. I went with my teenage kids and they loved the trip. I plan to do this again in the next two years.

Jonathon, Evan Tyson and Jason were the best! We throughly enjoyed their humor and their professionalism in managing our group. The hiking, the food and the adventure was an excellent experience. I have highly recommended this trip to many of our friends already. Thanks so for the experience of a life time!!!
Peter & Wolfgang Lechner - Vienna, Austria
If you have not yet made the Green River Trip with Western River Expeditions you cannot have enjoyed the best holidays of your life.
The two of us, Peter and son Wolfgang, "the Austrians", came passed an ocean and half a continent to Moab, Utah. Without hesitation, we would have come from the moon to enjoy these unforgetable days (and "nights under the stars") on the Green River.
The indescribable beauty of the canyons, our wonderful guides, the kindness of the other guests, the perfect organization of the trip and - last but not least - the fantastic meals, magically ready within a few minutes: all this is part of unforgettable days.
"An experience for a Lifetime" promises the brochure of Western River on this trip. This is just half the truth, because the reality is pure magic.
Wolfgang and Peter Lechner

My trip down the Green River was amazing! I couldn't have asked for better guides [Kenna, Camille, Jeff, Ryan and Grace] or a more wonderful trip. The expirence was incredible and I met so many unbelievable people. It's one adventrue I will never forget. If you're considering taking a rafting trip, go for it! Saddles and Paddles is a great trip that nearly everyone can enjoy! Thanks for the great time Kenna, Camille, Ryan, Grace, Jeff and Western River Expeditions!
Lynn And Darwin Hansen - Puelbo Colorado
We had a blast!
Troy, our guide. was half the fun. Troy was fun loving and intertaining as well informative. We learned alot about the canyon and the sites along the route. The rest of the fun came from jumping in the river, the water fights, and meeting a family from Holland that we shared the experience with.
We had it in our minds that there would be more white water action (the mildness was problably due to the section of the river we chose to ride) but once we looked at it from the perspective that we would be experiencing what mother nature had in mind for us, the trip became a very memoriable and pleasant experience.
I would recomend it to anyone who's looking for a pleasant day meandering down a beautiful lane of green water and towering cliffs. But only if they can be open to whatever nature provides along the way, including an occational white water thrill.
Terry Ragsdale - Ada, OK
It had been 26 years since my wife and I had been on the Green River. I took this trip with my daughter. We had such an incredable time. The trip was great and the guides were first rate. The group we traveled with could not have been better. Thanks fr such a wonderful time.
Lauren Seigel - New Jersey
My family and I spent 5 days on the Green River from July 10 - July 14. Our guides were Becky, Marion, Jesse, Troy and Ashley. We had a fantastic time and the guides were wonderful. They worked super hard to make our trip a memorable one. Troy was fantastic with the kids and Marion was wonderful with the the only 2 girls on the trip. Jesse made a fantastic Team Leader and really made sure we all had a great time. Ashley and Becky were great with everyone and always had smiles on their faces - which, quite honestly, I don't know how. The amount of responsibility these guides had and all the work they did is unbelieveable. My daughter has not stopped talking about the trip and really misses the guides. Thanks to all of you for making this trip my most memorable one ever. I want to wish each and everyone of you the best of luck with where ever life takes you - I know you will all be huge successes.
Lauren Seigel, Jim Jasionowski, Samantha DiMaria
Kathleen Igo - Maryland
A wonderful trip! Thanks to our GREAT GUIDES: TL Jesse (you were a perfect TL), Ashley, Marian, Becky, and Troy -- all of you made the trip so much fun. We will always remember this trip as one of our best family vacations. I think you may have inspired some future river runners in our kids! Loved meeting everyone - we were sad to say goodbye when it ended, but have many many fond memories.
Nancy Austin - Pomfret, CT
This trip was a mother son bonding experience, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. We both have memories for a lifetime, new friends for a lifetime, and a renewed sense of adventure and love of nature. Thank you so much for the best guides ever, Kenna, Lindsay, Camille, Jeff and Matt. If you're thinking of taking a river vacation, do it, and Saddles and Paddles was the perfect experience for a family, of any age.
Kevin McNamara - New Jersey
It was the best family trip we've ever taken. The food was fabulous and the guides phenomenal. Thanks for the great memories!
Lisa Claydon - Arlington, VA
This trip was so much more than I ever imagined...the natural beauty of the canyons and the river, the lifelong friends we made and our wonderful guides. What an absolutely amazing adventure. I was a a little hesitant about the Cesna flight, but it was terrific...wish we could do it again...and we will! When my 13-year-old daughter grabbed my hand as we looked up at the stars from our cots on the beach and said "thank you mom," I knew this was a life changing experience. Thank you and I'll be back! And thanks to our terrific guides, Kenna, Matt, Lindsey, Camille and Jeff for making it such a special experience.
Ted Smith - Cape Elizabeth
What a great trip we had, it was a little sad to have it end! The guides were terrific hosts, cooks, advisors and friends. Meeting the other families was a pleasure and we hope to stay in touch. Thanks for some wonderful memories and we'll have picture to share soon.
Katy Warren - Northern Virginia
I am a 15 year old girl and I had doubts aboutm doing a rafting trip for 5 days in the middle of nowhere without the comforts of home like a toilet etc. I came out of the trip crying because I had the most fun of my life!!! The giudes are so sweet, the people you meet will be your best friends forever, and the food is AWESOME :). So any teenage girls out there who don't like to hike, get dirty, and be without your hair straightners(haha) you don't know what your missing. This trip will change your life forever and make you into the person you really are. So now you have no excuse not to go. Have a great trip!!!
Jan Ryan - San Diego
Great trip. We were very impressed with the guides and everyone who worked at Western River Expeditions. The food and company will always be remembered.
Gary Delise - Maryland
It was the trip of a lifetime. Justin and Sarah loved it! Thanks so much to Ryan, Joselyn, Ashley and our fantastic TL, Anthony
You guys were the best.
Katie DeLancellotti - California
Hi everyone from the green river trip! I miss you all. I had an amazing time and loved getting to know everyone. Becca and I will never forget the trip! The pics are awesome! Hey Ashley, the pics are really good!
Sangtae Chang - Dallas, Texas
What a trip! We could not ask for any better companions or guides. Although the trip lasted only four days, the pleasant memories Haeyoung, Shannon, and I had will last for a long time. Thank you, friends.
Lori Johnson - Iowa
Our family agreed this was the best family vacation we have ever taken! The week down the Green River was spectacular! Our guides, Lynelle, Russ, Whitney, and Marian were the very best!! They were knowledgeable, fun to be with, great cooks, and most of all, just very nice people! We made many new friends and had a wonderful opportunity to see the gorgeous canyons of Utah. We enjoyed the hikes, our many swims and baths in the river, and sleeping under the stars. Our daughters, ages 9 and 11 loved this trip and would do it again tomorrow. We highly recommend this trip to anyone, but especially to families looking for a fun white water rafting and camping trip to do with their children.
Geri Brooks - Palm Springs Ca
Another delightful trip with Western River...but our first kayaking white water and we are hooked...Western is such a class act...the guides go out of their way to make the trip a great experience whether 7 or 70...though a senior, petite female, they made sure my trip was all it could be.
Randy Pryor - Chanute, KS
It was truly a great experience for my family. The scenery is spectacular and is perfect for those who want to get away from it all. We left the trip tired, but relaxed. The guides Sar-ha, Swampy, CV, Leigh, and Whitney were amazing (although they could not hang with Ryan Davis and I in the water fighting department!). Will forever remember Patrick's Lumberjack and Groover songs. Thanks again for a wonderful adventure.
Suze Weir - Park City, Utah
We booked a last minute 5 day trip on the Green and HAD A BALL!!! Lynnelle, Leigh and Nate (a "freelancer") did a fantastic job feeding, entertaining and "floating" us. Nate took the 8 kids (9-15) on his raft most of the trip and absolutely made the trip for those kiddos. They had a terrific time, much of it due to Nate's ability to be a kid himself. Lynnelle and Leigh expertly handled the rafts with grace and ease, and tactfully reminded us to buckle our life jackets and keep our feet in the raft when necessary. We had wonderful weather with an awe inspiring thunderstorm the first night and a star show every other night. The equipment Western provides is first class, and a really wonderful feature is cots to sleep on rather than a pad on the ground. For a person like me with a bad back, I would have carted a cot along with me on any trip, but Western provided it all for us! This is our 3rd trip with Western (the first 2 were in the 80's) and we will now add this one to our "never-to-be-forgotten" memories, as the first one we did with our two girls, 14 and 11. We're hoping to do many more trips with our girls and Western will always be our first choice. Take a water gun with you(!) and it's fun to take a wig or simple costume, too.
Shawn Harley - American Fork, UT
I have been mountain biking in Moab for many years and love the area, but this was our first river trip. My two older boys (Jackson - 11, and Ashton - 9) and I had a fantastic time. We didn't want the trip to end. The guides were simply awesome (Sara, Kenna, Marian, RD and Janie). They kept everyone entertained, both young and old. It's hard to put into words how much fun this trip really was, but here's a try: The meals were fantastic, the water was refreshing, the rapids were great, the scenery was unbelievable (day and night), the guides went beyond expectations to make sure everything was perfect, and the friends we made was a great part of the experience. I can't think of a better family vacation then this. Thanks to Western and to the heart of the trip - the Western River Guides. We'll be back.
joy fletcher - California
Womens trip July 11-15-04. Guides were exceptional, they made the trip. I commend Western River Expeditions for hiring such capable, intelligent, hardworking young women. They are very special!!!! Thank you ladies for a fun time.
Jocelyn Scott - Rancho Santa Fe
We had a great time! We loved our guides and enjoyed meeting many fun families. We hope to do this type of trip again. Thanks for everything.
Kit Grindstaff - New Hope, PA
I had noooo idea before leaving what a wonderful time this la-la-la-Ladies! trip would be! All the guides were so great, hard working, full of live and fun; having yoga every morning and massage in the evening was a dream, and and the whole trip in the depths of the Green River was magical. I will treasure the memories always. Thank you all!
Mary MacDonald - Clifton Park, NY
From start to finish, the women's only trip in July 2004 was superb. We enjoyed the flight to the river (I held on tightly), the short Teva hike (how long was that?) to the river, then 4 days on the river. The guides were excellent with all their fun-loving ideas. This included face masks and a toga party. I loved paddling the rubber duckies down the river. Sleeping under the stars was an experience I have not enjoyed for many years. And we even had rain - about 10 drops on the last night - sent a few people scurrying for their tents. Thanks to all on our trips, especially Linelle, Sarah, Whitney, Lee and Marion. The girls did an excellent job.
Lisa Naples - PA
I was on the Women Only 5-day, 4-night trip down the Green. Our guides; Linelle, Sara, Marian, Whitney and Leigh were tremendous young women. They worked tirelessly, were fountains of information and good cheer, and inspired us all.
My group; 9 women who had lost a mutual friend to breast cancer this year were there strictly to bond, play and share a slice of life together in our friend's memory. I haven't had so much fun since I was in college and thats going back 20+ years.
There were older women on the trip who also inspired me. They were from Chicago and apparently do this kind of outdoor adventure together annually. I loved having their wisdom and light-hearted sense of adventure w/us for the duration of the trip.
A sincere thank-you to all at Western who make these trips possible!

Our family made our first rafting trip this year, a family trip on the Green River. We're hooked ... I expect we'll be back as soon as we can manage! My 11-year old daughter and I are both "water-rats," but my husband doesn't like to get splashed and really didn't want to come. Our goal for the week was to convince B. that "in-the-water" was just as great as "near-the-water" ... and we succeeded! He was negotiating with the rest of us for kayak time by the end of the trip. He was also dubious about "camping" for 4 nights, but the accomodations provided by Western were an eye-opener for us (talk about luxury camping...).
I enjoyed the breathtaking scenery and the pristine surroundings. I think Desolation Canyon is misnamed - it's beautiful - but perhaps that name is good to keep too many people from "discovering" it. From the wonderful, eye-popping flight over the canyons, the wildlife sightings, the light on the canyon walls (especially early morning and late in the day), to the lovely campsites - it was hard to absorb so much natural beauty. The surroundings helped me to unsnarl my thoughts, relax into serenity, and remember what's important in life. Despite all the superlatives above, our guides were the heart of our trip. Wendy is the best role-model of a smart savvy confident competent caring fun "strong woman" I could ever hope for for my 11-year-old daughter(and for me!). Wendy and Russ surprised us at every meal with delicious fresh food (I thought I'd lose weight on the trip, what with all the outside activity, but no such luck). They defused small interpersonal conflicts with tact and discretion, they came to check on us in the middle of the night when it threatened to rain, and they tolerated our wacky senses of humor(?). They educated us on the natural and human history of the canyon, and they demonstrated(by example) how to care for and preserve the delicate desert wilderness. They have beautiful singing voices, and wicked senses of humor...and they were both just plain nice. They both worked *very* hard, but always gave the impression of casually hosting us in a beautiful big garden. Thanks for a *wonderful* adventure.
