Moab Hummer Tours Reviews
Hummer Tours are "Fun for Everyone"!
Humvees and Slickrock
1983 is the year the "Humvee", or "High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles" were put into production - and 9 years later released to the public as "The Hummer". During that time the economy of Moab, Utah transitioned from busted uranium mining to bustling recreational tourism. You might say it was a different kind of rock that attracted the new crowd: Slickrock.
Slickrock, slippery to a horse's hooves, was found to be exceptionally "grippy" for rubber tires. First it was the "Fat Tires" of motorbikes & new-fangled mountain bikes, then the Hummer, and now all sorts of 4-wheeled "rock crawlers".
Frequently Asked Questions about Moab Hummer Tours
Our hummer safaris do not take place in either of the nearby national parks. Instead, you will be exploring the world-famous “Hell’s Revenge” off-road trail in the nearby Sand Flats Recreation area located just east of downtown Moab.
We highly recommend guests use our restrooms before departing on their hummer tour as there are no toilets available once on the trail.
This tour will include many large slickrock fins and several viewpoints over Moab and the Colorado River. Several of these fins and overlooks may have sudden drop-offs on either side. However, you are not required to exit the vehicle during the tour. If you are comfortable with heights while inside the vehicle, you should be just fine on our Hummer safaris.
Our hummer safaris are best described as slow moving roller coasters. While slow moving, they can still be quite bumpy. We don’t recommend hummer tours to guests with back issues. There will also be several stops to view scenic overlooks during the tour; however, you are not required to exit the vehicle during these stops.
