Moab Hummer Tour - Sunset Safari

The sunset Hummer® Safari departs each evening just before sunset from the Moab Adventure Center. Within minutes of departure, you'll be scaling one of Moab's famous red rock fins on your way to an area known as "Hell's Revenge." We'll weave in and out of rock canyons, and feel the power and confidence of the Hummer as it climbs steep sandstone hills. While on the trip your guides will explain to you the geology of the area, along with the history of the Canyonlands area. Midway through our trip, you'll have an unforgettable experience as we ascend to the summit of a captivating overlook. As we head back on the trail, we'll stop to see ancient dinosaur tracks embedded in the rock surface. Here we'll relax, take pictures, and enjoy a snack or two while the desert sun paints the evening sky. Then climb aboard the Hummer® one last time as we head back to the Adventure Center.

Sunset Safari trips meet at the Moab Adventure Center, 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Departure times will vary depending on the season and time of sunset. Call ahead of time for exact details. This trip is 3 hours.

16 inches of ground clearance all the H1 to render countless obstacles neutral, be it a large sandstone rock or a fallen tree.

The H1 can ford 30 inches of water. That's 2 1/2 feet. This kind of depth is achieved with a sealed central venting system, protecting major drive train components from contamination.

Agility & Balance

The Hummer H1 has an approach angle of 72 degrees, departure angle of 37.5 degrees and a break over angle of 32.5 degrees, all allowing the h1 to pass through deep ditches and traverse large dirt mounds without suffering any front or rear end damage.

The H1 can scale a 60 degree slope.

Wheels & Tires

The Hummer H1 has 17 inch high-strength cast aluminum wheels with tire bead retaining system. Air compressors deflate or inflate each tire for maximum grip. Fitted on these wheels are 37 inch tires that climb just about anything in our path.

Moab Hummer Thrill

The Hummer Slickrock Safari was an amazing experience. Our guide, Mike was excellent. He was very informative and made the trip very enjoyable. I was a little hesitant at the beginning of the trip as I realized the inclines we’d be climbing in the Hummer but I quickly gained trust in Mike and the vehicle. He shared great information and insights, answered our questions very well and gave us all a great experience. Although I was hesitant at first because I am not a huge fan of heights, before long I was hoping we’d be climbing more fins and surfaces. The trip was a great way to see a part of Moab I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. This was our first time to Moab and we’re already talking about another trip to Moab but bringing our kids this time to experience the Hummer ride and see Moab, Utah.

Lamont was the BEST guide ever! He was attentive, very knowledgeable, personable, funny, and very professional. My son and I immediately felt at ease with him and his driving skills; an important factor to me since we were on the evening Hummer Sunset Safari. I hope to come back some time with my wife and take this tour again with Lamont. She would love it! It was an excellent mix of scenic views, area history, pre-history (dinosaur tracks were cool), and a rollercoaster of a ride.
