Canyoneering Bow & Arrow Canyon in Moab, Utah
Starting with a hike among sandstone fins that rise up from the Potash Road, this adventure hike leads you up steep climbs to the beautiful Longbow Arch. Notch yourself into the short slot canyons hidden by massive sandstone monoliths and you become the arrow descending gracefully over the arcing sandstone into the canyons further below. Enjoy rappelling down four different rappel descents in Moab's Bow & Arrow Canyon.
The first rappel is an excellent warm-up at 15 feet, then 80 feet, 25 feet, and finally with a spectacular open drop of 50 feet. Along the way, get a close-up view of petroglyphs left by the Ancestral Puebloans. There is even an opportunity to see fossilized dinosaur tracks. Detailed rappelling instruction from the patient and friendly canyoneering guides applying backup safety systems allow intermediate-level adventurers to experience this exciting canyoneering adventure hike.
Guides will provide insights into geology, plant life, and natural history to add depth to your adventure. It is recommended that participants feel highly confident in their hiking skills and strength for this adventurous activity. Sustained ascents on the hike may be challenging for some individuals, but previous rappelling experience is not required.
